EmpireA relative newcomer, a cross of the McIntosh and Red Delicious which gives it a unique flavour. This apple is medium sized. Colour is predominantly dark red, striped and blushed, contrasting with light yellow background. Flesh is juicy, cream coloured, mild in flavour and sweet. It is a high quality dessert type for fresh eating and also cooks well.
