This truly Ontario variety originated in Eastern Ontario nearly 200 years ago, and has since spread all over North America and other parts of the world. A medium sized apple. Red in colour, with green background. The flesh is white. It's juicy, crisp, becoming mild and nearly sweet when ripe, very aromatic, a delightful flavour. Excellent for eating fresh, can also be cooked in pies, or made into sauce.
